Mark Kingon has been at SARS for 34 years in a long and varied career that started in January 1984. On 14 March 2018, Mark was appointed as the Acting Commissioner for SARS. At the time of his appointment, he was the Acting Chief in the division called Business and Individual Taxes (BAIT).
I have had the pleasure of dealing with Mark in tax related issues that could not be solved at branch level or Sars helplines. His assistance was exceptional and resolved my queries in a efficient manner.
As a Tax Practitioner we need more like Mark working for Sars in order to have a prosperous South Africa through old school ethics and plain hard work.
